Summary

Chapter 33, titled "Wine and Nibbles and the Dawn of a New Era," moves the third person narration to focus on Tom and Hester and they fly in the Jenny Haniver. It is filled with memories of Anna Fang. The pair also discover that she was rich but they know the money is of no use to them since they will probably be dead soon. Tom is beginning to feel afraid but he knows that he wants to make Valentine pay for everything that he did. The narrative shifts back to London to focus on Valentine as he pushes his way through the crowd at the Lord Mayor's reception to get close to the Lord Mayor himself. Crome sounds almost jolly when Valentine approaches him and informs Valentine that a whole new race of Resurrected Men will be their soldiers and servants...
