Summary

The final section of the novel is titled More Happy Ending. Aaron has aged about a year but has no memory of the passage of time. He stands up to look at himself in the mirror but forgets before he reaches it. Aaron is still furious with Me-Crazy who might have killed Aaron. Aaron is alive but feels the attack ruined his life. Aaron draws constantly. Aaron becomes disoriented, prompting frustration and anger. Elsie seems exhausted and prays that the next surgery will work. Eric hands Aaron journals, a blue one Aaron writes in and a green one that his friends sign when they visit. Aaron sees the journals as proof that his life is ongoing, though he does not remember it. Aaron begins to cry, realizing that his friends have not forgotten him, though he continues to forget.
