Summary

Part Two is titled A Different Happiness. Chapter 1 is titled “His Happy Birthday.” Genevieve says she learned a lot at the art camp and Aaron could benefit if he comes with her next year. He takes notice of “her confidence in our future” (111). She says they can never be apart that long again. Aaron agrees; but, privately, he thinks she was only “kind of” on his mind. He thinks of Thomas as he and Genevieve have sex. Aaron thinks about the Sun Warden's decision (his comic) of whether he would save his girlfriend or his best friend. Aaron feels sure he would choose Genevieve. Aaron sets up a party for Thomas on the roof. A lot of Aaron's friends show up but none of Thomas's. Genevieve is soon very drunk. They eat cake until Me-Crazy sticks his hand in the icing...
