Summary

In “Lisa Treherne,” Susan ate dinner with Lawrence and Lisa, Cecily’s sister, on her first night at Branlow Hall. Lawrence noted that Cecily loved anagrams and had decided to incorporate an owl into the hotel’s logo when she realized she could rearrange the letters of "Branlow" to form barn owl. Susan remembered that Alan also liked to include anagrams in his novels. In fact, she feared that Alan had hidden the clue in an anagram or word puzzle. She wanted to get as much information as she could about Frank’s murder and Cecily before she read the novel again so she would be more likely to recognize what Cecily had seen.

Susan noticed that Lisa had a half-inch long scar on one side of her mouth. She had not attempted to conceal it with makeup...
