Summary

Part Two is titled Stay Hidden. In Chapter 9, Darkstalker says the bracelet has broken. Moon realizes the recent earthquakes associated with a comet passing were responsible. Moon has been having the nightmares about Jade Mountain collapsing since the quakes. She wonders if it has something to do with Darkstalker's awakening. Darkstalker says he killed his father to save his tribe. He believes he should use his gifts and believes that being a ruler is the best way to do that. Darkstalker has the ability to see “all the possible futures” (118), meaning he could have “guided the tribe along the best path” (118). He says Clearsight saw the futures with Darkstalker serving as a benevolent king, but she also saw futures in which he became evil, and she chose to believe those.
