Under the Stars, Miss Sadie's Divining Parlor, and Elixir of Life Summary

Under the Stars. June 12, 1936. Abilene tells her friends Miss Sadie's latest story over and over and they analyze every aspect of it. They find it interesting that Miss Sadie talks about herself in the third person in her story, but it is clear she interacted with Jinx and Ned all those years ago. They are also fascinated with the curse Miss Sadie placed on Mrs. Larkin and the way Ned's letters seem to support everything in the stories. The girls, who are out in the night searching for something Miss Sadie has asked for but not explained fully, share a small meal of liverwurst sandwiches and gingersnap cookies. As they wait for whatever Miss Sadie wants to appear, they talk about the woods...
