Miss Sadie's Divining Parlor and The Victory Quilt Summary
Miss Sadie's Divining Parlor. June 6, 1936. Abilene walks slowly to Miss Sadie's the next morning thinking about the grave she found. Abilene begins to feel as though someone is following her and decides to play her rhyming game again to keep her mind off it. When Abilene becomes spooked, she hides in the bushes and then rushes out, running into Sister Redempta. Abilene is then admonished by the nun and reminded of her assignment. Abilene returns to her work in the garden, all the while wondering what Sister Redempta was doing in this part of town. When Sadie mentions the new Clayton baby, Abilene wonders if Sister Redempta came to see Miss Sadie.
