Point of View
Throughout the novel, the point of view is in a consistent third-person perspective, but the point of view rotates to different characters throughout the chapters. This is almost an omniscient narrator, but the narrator does not ever jump heads in the same scene, so it would be better classified as a rotating third-person that switches over to different characters in order to get close to them for certain scenes. For the most part, the narration switches between a close third-person on Mari and a close third-person on Nik, the hero and heroine of the novel. For the most part, the narration remains consistent throughout a single chapter and then switches over at the beginning of a new chapter. But neither of these are always true. Chapter Three, for example takes place in the perspective of Dead Eye. Chapter Four switches to Mari’s perspective. But...
