Summary

In Chapter Eight, Mari was drawing when she heard something at the door. Since no one knew where the burrow was except for her and her mother because the location of a Moon Woman's home was always kept secret, she assumed it was Leda. But when she opened the door, she found a shepherd puppy, badly injured. At first she was frightened, but then she felt a psychic connection to the dog. Leda came back and found Mari hugging the dog and knew that they had bonded, like Galen and Orion. Mari named the dog Rigel and then Leda told Mari that they needed to heal the dog. They went outside to the clearing and for the first time ever, Mari was able to draw down the power of the moon and heal Rigel.
