Chapters 11 and 12 Summary

Josie sets up the ceremony in the bath section of the store. All of the kids attend, but Astrid still does not show up. She has been missing for the last twenty-four hours, since the incident in the bathroom with Batiste. Sahalia plays the guitar and sings a song. Dean reads his poem.

They have pizza again for lunch. The little kids suggest that they can help Dean prepare the meals, so he agrees to choose a new helper each day and that the helper can pick what they eat. It is time for the election, but Jake and Brayden are missing.

Jake and Brayden make an entrance as football players, which is part of Jake's election speech. Niko gives his speech and then they hold the election. Josie announces that it was a close race but that the winner is...
