Point of View
The novel Montana Sky, but Nora Roberts is written in the third person. This is extremely helpful to the reader as there are many characters that interact with each other within the novel and all of them are central to the storyline. The three main characters, Willa, Lily and Tess Mercy are the three unwanted daughters of Jack Mercy. By writing in the third person the author allows the reader to gain a better sense of what each character thinks and feels, as well as to get a better idea of what motivates each woman. As the novel progresses the reader also gets a sense of how each woman grows and changes during the year they are forced to stay together on Mercy Ranch.
