Summary
In “Separations,” Todd narrates first. The Mayor thanks Todd for saving him but Viola appears to be angry with Todd. Todd is confused because he cannot understand how he wound up saving the Mayor when he was reaching for Simone. Wilf also credits Todd with saving him. He says that it was as if Todd made his feet move. He asks how Todd did it. Even though he is badly burned on the back of his head, the Mayor heads outside to talk to the people to tell them that the peace process was going to continue despite what Mistress Coyle had done. Meanwhile, Viola and Bradley review the recording of the bomb blast. They watch as Todd reaches directly for the Mayor. Bradley encourages Viola to talk to Todd before she comes to a rash decision.
