Sex Tape
The sex tape that Fly discovers of Gary and Eloise symbolizes the past. When Fly first finds the tape, he is unsure what to expect. As soon as he begins watching it, he cannot look away despite his shock. Over the months and years following, Fly clings to the tape in much the same way his father has. The tape, therefore, is a symbol of an alternate era or reality, one which Gary cannot get back and one which Fly has yet to locate or understand.
