Love

Love is prevalent theme throughout the novel Modoc. Love, referring to the deep feeling of caring for another person or thing, is most obvious between the two main characters of the novel, Bram Gunterstein and Modoc. The love these two characters feel for each other is clear, though a bit out of the ordinary, as Modoc is an elephant. Despite this, it is clear to the reader that from the very beginnings of the novel, Bram and Modoc share a love that transcends what most people yearn for throughout their lives.

The love that Bram and Modoc share is obviously not of a romantic nature, but a love of shared feelings between the two.
