Summary

In Chapter 64, Ben decides during Ellis’ memorial service that he owes it to his friend’s family to uncover why the man died. He calls Carney and tells him that he is not taking the deal.

In Chapter 65, Ben goes to Anne’s house and tells her that he wants her to go out of town, take a vacation, on him, so he will know that she is safe. Against his will, the two move closer together on the couch.

In Chapter 66, the two have sex. Afterward, Ben tells Anne that doesn’t change anything. He still wants her to go someplace that she will be safe. Anne, however, tells him that the rules have changed. If he is in, she is in.
