Summary
In Chapter 49, Detective Larkin questions Benjamin about his story. He has to concentrate to keep his mind from wandering to cop movies. At the end of their interview, Larkin offers to give Benjamin her theory of his story. He believes that he needs a lawyer.
In Chapter 50, as Larkin describes her take of Benjamin’s actions, he realizes that he has been set up. Whoever killed Diana made sure he was in the apartment before hand and that he hung around until the murder took place. They even knew that he would visit Liu at his house. Benjamin realizes he’s been playing into their hands all along.
In Chapter 51, hanging out at a bar, Benjamin gets a phone call from Ashley Brook telling him that the techies at the newspaper think they can pull the information off Liu’s computer.
