Summary

In Chapter 1, Benjamin searches through Diana’s apartment. He discovers that she is on anti-anxiety medicine and birth control. A search through the closet uncovers a hoard of shoes and sex toys. The man, who appears to be dating Diana, plants two bugs, one in the form of an AC adapter and one in the form of a smoke detector, in her apartment. He leaves her apartment and slips out the fire escape just as he hears her key in the door.

In Chapter 2, Benjamin walks to the front of Diana’s apartment and chats with a couple of guys about his bike before leaving. He looks up at Diana’s balcony one last time to wish her a good night and sees a body falling from the balcony.
