Chapters 22-25 Summary
Julia heads to the church and announces that she has time to show Dr. Fowler around now. Pastor Ledbetter is obviously pleased, and Dr. Fowler takes Julia's hand so that she can show him around. During the tour, Julia forgets her mission to discover what the doctor wants with her, her head swimming with the compliments the man pays her. In the bridal chapel, Julia seemingly misconstrues the doctor's intentions and leans in as he struggles with her. Pastor Ledbetter bursts in and Dr. Fowler tells the pastor that Julia is as crazy as he thought. Embarrassed at her mistake, Julia faints.
Waking up, Julia is ashamed as she speaks to Pastor Ledbetter, who tells her that Dr. Fowler believes Julia needs therapy before she gets worse. Ledbetter tells a devastated Julia that she suffers from nymphomania, a sin, and that...
