Summary

Chapter 25 "Miss Buncle and Mr. Abbott" - Barbara knows that Arthur Abbott is coming in a matter of hours to propose, but she is nervous and restless. She tells Dorcas to give Arthur the manuscript of "The Pen..." and goes for a walk. When she returns Arthur is there. She accepts his proposal and they talk about "The Pen...". Arthur can hardly believe some of the things in the book, but Barbara recites the proverb, "Truth is stranger than fiction" because the goings on of the residents of Copperfield are directly modeled off reality in Silversmith. Arthur tells her she will have to leave Silverstream before the wedding because everyone will know it is her if she announces her marriage to her publisher. Barbara says she does not think she will be sad...
