Chapters 20-23 Summary

In chapter 20, Lucas tries to think over who might benefit from helping the kidnapper. Lucas decides to call Dunn and ask his opinion. However, Lucas upsets Dunn so badly that the man hangs up on him. Lucas wakes Weather and discusses the case with her. Weather suggests that the informant would most likely be either Wolfe or Dunn. Lucas spends all the next day going over patient files, frustrated that the best suspect is dead. In chapter 21, Lucas is called to the station in the middle of the night when they hear a phone call between Dunn and the kidnapper over a wire tap asking for a ransom.
