Summary
At halftime during the game against the Blair Bears, the score is 7-7. Nate is having an off day. Coach Rivers tells him to forget about the bad plays, to adopt sports amnesia like the pros do. Nate continues to throw incomplete passes which frustrates him. He also notices that his mother and Abby are no longer sitting in the stands. Nate's team loses with a final score of 14-13. Nate feels low because he knows his playing was not up to par today. Coach Rivers also tells Nate that Abby fell in the stands and Nate's mother took her to the hospital.
In Chapter 10, Nate speaks to his mother on the phone. She tells him that she and Abby are leaving the hospital and that the coach will drop Nate off at Abby's house. Nate's mother tells him that Abby had tried...
