Summary
Chapter 34
Angel/Nicole does not know what to do with the money Bill has left her, so Alan suggests that she call his father. Alan’s father is an accountant. Angel/Nicole quits her job and signs up for classes at the university. Several months pass. In March, Alan learns that the roads are open through Yellowstone National Park.
Chapter 35
A few days later, Alan packs his things, says his goodbye, and returns to his walk.
Chapter 36
Alan walks out of Spokane and heads toward Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He spends the night in a motel just outside the city, exhausted by the first day’s walk.
Chapter 37
As Alan walks through Coeur d’Alene, he is thinking of how much McKale would have loved the city. From there, Alan follows the interstate. That night, he decides to camp in a small picnic...
