Miles Morales

Miles is the main character of the story and its first person narrator. He is a middle schooler that attends the prestigious Brooklyn Visions Academy. He is not just an average student, he is also Spider-man, Brooklyn's very own Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man. After being bitten by a genetically engineered spider, Miles gained powers and abilities that would help him fight crime. These include the ability to shoot webs from his hands, invisibility, and fire a venom blast, which is a web blast filled with electricity. He also has his spidey-sense, an ability that tingles inside him letting him know something bad is happening.

Miles is of afro-latino descent and is a large part of his identity, both personally and culturally. He never forgets where his parents came from and does everything he can to let it shine through him. His art throughout the book is inspired by...
