Chapters 25-28 Summary

Chapter 25. Fabrizio is escorted to Mangus' house, where he not only collects the items necessary for the night's activities, but he is able to reassure Mangus's wife of their safety. Later, Fabrizio is returned to his cell where Teresina visits him, giving him a candle that counts down time and showing him how to navigate the dark corridors to the chapel. Unfortunately, Fabrizio falls asleep and knocks over the candle, leaving him with no way to tell time or to navigate the dark corridors.

Chapter 26. Fabrizio wakes in a panic and immediately begins to attempt to navigate the dark corridors. Fabrizio first finds his way to Mangus' bedchamber, where he is distressed to discover Mangus has already left for the scheduled sighting. Fabrizio then rushes to the chapel, nearly getting lost again when someone spots him. In the chapel, Fabrizio discovers...
