Cristián Ferrar
Cristián Ferrar is a Spanish expatriate who lives and works as a layer in Paris. In the late 1930's, he is contacted by the Spanish embassy in Paris, who asks if he can perform intelligence work for the Spanish Republic, who is fighting a civil war against Franco's uprising Nationalist forces. Despite having no training -- and, indeed, not knowing how to fire a gun -- Ferrar uses the same measured intelligence he practices as an upstanding lawyer to successfully work alongside the weapons dealer Max de Lyon.
