Summary
On April 9, back in Paris, Ferrar has another lengthy meeting with his Hungarian client. On April 10, Ferrar handwrites a letter to the Marquesa, asking her out on a date for a fancy type of hot chocolate called chocolat chaud. The next day, Barabee calls Ferrar into his office and indicates that Ferrar may be facing legal action from Poland for stealing a train -- for reasons that Barabee cannot begin to guess.
On May 3, Ferrar is summoned to a mysterious meeting by Molina. The meeting turns out to be between Ferrar, de Lyon, and the Spanish Republic General Juan Quebral, who requests anti-aircraft ammunition from de Lyon. Later that night, Ferrar and de Lyon talk with Stavros at Le Cygne and conclude that they will have to buy -- or maybe even steal -- the ammunition from the Soviets.
