Summary
In Chapter 23, Bobo is listening to the radio and hears that Price Eggleston’s ranch house has burned down. The police think that arson is the cause. Manfred realizes that he has heard that name before and checks his records. Price had come in the pawnshop with an old gun a few weeks before. Bobo wonders whether he should tell someone about the visit, but decides not to. He thinks about Price’s visit and realizes that he had wanted to get a look at Bobo and is sure that he wanted to get Bobo to talk about firearms, but is not sure whether the reason was legitimate or not.
