Common Sense and Good Judgment Summary
Phoebe introduces this chapter by first describing a dangerous intersection with no stop light near their house. After enough accidents, the city finally installed a traffic signal. However, the first time Phoebe and her father drove through the intersection with the light, somebody ran the light and Phoebe's dad had to swerve to keep from hitting the other person's car.
At this point, Phoebe's dad begins to lecture her about people needing to use common sense and good judgment. He turns to look at Phoebe as he talks, and doesn't notice his driving, so the car drifts into the other lane of traffic. Phoebe notes that two separate cars blew their horns at him.
