Getting a Grip Summary
Phoebe writes first that Mick's memorial service was on a Saturday. She then goes on to explain that Mick had already requested to be cremated. Mick had been terrified and sickened by his great-grandmother's body at her funeral. He laughed hysterically when he saw a handkerchief in his great-grandmother's pocket and wondered if she would really need the handkerchief. After the funeral, Mick had announced that he wanted to be cremated.
In the car on the way to Mick's service, Phoebe notices that her mother has some strands of grey hair. As Phoebe realized that these she hadn't had these greys before, Phoebe reaches out and touches her mother's hair. Her mom takes Phoebe's hand with one hand and Pop's hand with the other.
