Chapters 2-3 Summary

In chapter two, Deanna goes back to the house she is sharing with Deanna and her husband Brian, and Deanna asks why Theresa has been crying. Theresa shows Deanna the letter. Almost immediately Deanna begins pressing Theresa to publish the letter in her column. Theresa is reluctant, convinced that it is morally wrong. However, Deanna promises to remove all reference to location and to only use initials, not names. Theresa spends the day thinking about it as she and Deanna go shopping and attempt to relax. That night over dinner, Brian admits to having read the letter and tells them that Wrightsville Beach, a location mentioned in the letter, is in North Carolina.
