Summary
Giselle worked on Memory Piece every day. “The more she wrote,” the easier it was to think of memories (46). She was subletting an apartment in Brooklyn and spent most of her time there writing. She liked being “alone with her work” but often thought about Jackie and Ellen (47). She tried getting in touch with Ellen, but could not find her current number. In the evenings, she worked at “a Japanese restaurant in the West Village” (47). After work one night, she met up with her friends Ruben and Maxine. While dancing, she felt overcome by despair about Mall Piece (48).
