Tarrytown, New York is the setting or location where the novel takes place. It is the real setting for the novel Sleepy Hollow. Tarrytown is in the upstate New York area, so it it close to the capital of Albany and near New York City.
Tom Purdue
Tom Purdue is the private school that Naomi attends. It is the location where she falls down the stops and contracts amnesia. The stairs of the school are the first place she meets James. Later in the novel, the same stairs are a sledding hill in the snow for James and Naomi. Ultimately, the novel wraps up where it began on the stairs, with Will and Naomi walking off together as a couple.
