Summary

As Knut matures, Matthias spends more and more time preparing his food in order to give him the nutrients he would otherwise get from food polar bears in the wild would eat – food like sea lions. Knut also develops an interest in television, but pays close attention only when Matthias is around: otherwise, it is simply uninteresting. Christian, meanwhile, discovers Knut’s animal sensitivity to the movements of human beings, and wonders if he should become some kind of athlete.

Knut is prepared for his “debut” in front of the press, although he is not exactly sure what it means.
