Summary
In "Moth Egg," the narrator, Moth, offers three definitions of a moth egg. She remembers her grandfather’s spells.
In "Call Me (Moth)," Moth's parents were Jim and Marcia. Her brother was Zachary. Her aunt changed her name to Jacqueline, "(Jack) for short" (2). Though Moth has considered changing her name, it has become a part of her.
In "Almost Summer (Again)," two summers prior, Moth and her family were in a car accident. Moth broke bones and was left with a scar on her face. They had been on their way from New York to visit Aunt Jack in Northern Virginia" (4). The whole family went to the hospital. Aunt Jack prayed for them, but only one person survived (4).
