Chapter 6 Summary
Lou is surprised when Will's father greets her on the morning following the first snow fall. He tells her that Will isn't good. It is Nathan's morning off. Lou takes off her shoes and coat, aware that Mrs. Traynor is in court that morning, and goes in to check on Will. He is sleeping, so Lou busies herself and when by 1pm he still hadn't woken, she knocks loudly to get his attention. He needs to change position, and tells her how to help him commenting that her hands are freezing. She realizes how hot his skin is and he admits he is a bit dizzy. She gets him a painkiller and leaves when he asks her to. When she checks on him again, he is pale, and doesn't answer her so she touches his face and his flinches. He insists he's fine...
