Chapters 2 and 3 Summary
Lou would have just worn something from her closet, but her mother insists she borrow a suit from her to make a good impression on her job interview. The skirt is tight, making her gait awkward as she walks to Granta House on the other side of Stortfold Castle. She is greeted by Camilla Traynor, the patients' mother. They go into a huge, elegant room where they sit down, and Lou hears the unmistakable sounds of seams ripping. Using her jacket to cover as much of her torn skirt as possible, she answers Mrs. Traynor's questions, trying the occasional joke which falls on a poker face.
