Summary
In Chapter 49, "Counseling Verses Therapy," Lori has a therapy session with Wendell. Lori asks him for advice. She has a "professional question." In the past, he has counseled her, giving her practical advice. The first time was concerning her therapy practice and the advice he gave her helped her out. The second time it was concerning her book contract. Not understanding the publishing industry, he told her he supposed she had to finish the book so she could write the next one that mattered to her. Lori felt bad for pushing Wendell for an answer, which resulted in his giving her prescriptive advice. Still, she now feels anger toward him. She just canceled the book contract. She tries to hide it in their session, but Wendell picks up on it and she confesses her conflicted feelings. Wendell apologizes. He feels that he failed...
