Summary
In Chapter 34, "Just Be," Lori recalls a conversation she had with her hairstylist, Cory, a while back during her traineeship. It was about therapy. He told her that people often shared their secrets with him. She asked if he ever gave them advice. He said no, definitely not. He told them to "Just be" (240). Lori laughs. She imagines saying this to her patients when they presented their issues and problems to her. But as Lori considers Cory's advice, she realizes there is something to it. Instead of trying to control everything, we can learn to let go. We can stop constantly trying to change ourselves and others. We can learn to accept life as the way it is.
