Summary
In Chapter 16, "The Whole Package," we learn that after she left medical school, Lori's life did not fall into place as planned. Three years later, at thirty-seven, a two-year relationship she was in ended. She desperately wanted to have kids. She decided to do it in herself, in reverse order: baby first, then partner. One night, a friend emailed her some sperm-donor sites. After soldiering some options, she decided to move forward. She just needed to choose a donor. After extensive research, she got the help of a worker at one of the sperm banks named Kathleen. Kathleen told her she had found the perfect donor, a young George Clooney who was smart and handsome and kind; "the whole package."
