Importance: Sydney is fearful, even before meeting Ridge, that her relationship with Hunter is not as perfect as it seems. This quote represents Sydney's apprehension at settling down with Hunter and committing to somebody so early on in her life while she is still young. She does not have confidence that Hunter is the right person for her, but she also has not experienced any strong desire to break up with him yet.

I hit send and watch him read the text. He laughs, and this irritates me. Mostly because his smile is so . . . smiley. Is that even a word? I don’t know how else to describe it. It’s as if his whole face smiles right...
