Summary

Gabby stays with Hannah at the hospital. Hannah prefers her company to her family’s. While Gabby snores, Hannah reflects on everything that happened. She is desperate “to get up and move around” (69). In the middle of the night, Hannah’s night nurse checks on her. Hannah is immediately taken by him. He is from Texas, and they briefly connect about the city. Then he helps Hannah tie up her hair. She always wears it in a bun. It has been down since surgery. Before he leaves, the nurse introduces himself as Henry. He promises to bring Hannah pudding at the end of the night.
