Chapter 16: Miss Honey's Cottage; Chapter 17: Miss Honey's story Summary
Matilda and Miss Honey walk to Miss Honey's cottage through the town, discussing Matilda's ability on the way. Matilda is very chatty and excited, talking about how she really believes she can move just about anything with her eyes if she wants to. Miss Honey is insistent that they need to be careful with Matilda's gift, because they are dealing with mysterious forces. Matilda doesn't think much about where they are going until they arrive at Miss Honey's cottage. It is absolutely tiny without heat, electricity, or running water, and hardly any furniture at all. She is very surprised and has lots of questions, but manages to keep them to herself while Miss Honey prepares tea and a modest snack. When they are sitting down on the upturned boxes...
