Chapter Twenty-three Summary
Portia falls into Bodie's arms in Chapter Twenty-three. After talking with Heath about love and control, Bodie's appearance at Heath's door is a welcome surprise. Portia is ready to admit to loving him and telling him that he was right in his psychoanalysis of her. She wants Bodie to hold her and never let her go. He is more than willing to do that. He takes her to a park across from Heath's house and they talk. Portia even asks Bodie to marry her. She admits her fear of living fully and Bodie assures her that all people are scared.
Monday morning, as soon as he can decently reach people, Heath starts his search for Annabelle. He begins with her family but can't find her. He drives to her house and finds the car he bought her has been delivered. He...
