Chapter Three Summary
Chapter Three introduces the reader to Portia Powers. She hunts for Annabelle's office. Portia saw an advertisement on Heath's desk and wants to scout out the competition. She had lost some clients to another agency and was determined not to lose another client. Portia is relieved to discover the little old house and see that the name of a non-threatening agency had been changed.
Portia is obsessed with everything being perfect. She makes her perfect appearance her god. She has risen by hard work and plans not to lose any ground. She visits her appointment for a skin treatment before she returns to her office and weighs in the women who work for her. This time she has one rebellion. She offers good pay and better benefits.
