Book Four, Tony 1946-1950: Chapters 18-22 Summary

Tony arrives in Paris and rents a small apartment that he takes joy in filling with flea market items. Tony applies to an exclusive art school and is shocked to be accepted. Tony joins his first year class, a drawing class that emphasizes anatomy. Tony is warned few people will advance to the second year class. Tony makes friends among other students and spends a great deal of time at museums and meeting successful artists. Tony is happy, feeling as though he is now in his element.
