Summary
New York – In the first part of this chapter, Cat briefly addresses Marlena – talking about how her (Cat’s) everyday life is filled with thoughts and memories of her. She comments that being an adult is nothing like what they believed; that she sometimes feels grateful for the smallest things; and that even though the colors of life are a little softer, she is glad to be alive.
Cat then describes how close she has gotten to her mother, and how much she (Cat) has, over time, realize how much courage her mother had, in moving away into a new life; how hard it must all of been for her; and how much went on, for her, that she (Cat) never knew about.
