Summary
New York – Cat wakes up with a bad hangover, and goes through her apartment noting all the signs of what she had done before – the empty beer cans, the scatter of debris from the souvenir box, the laptop with the transcription of her texts. She closes the laptop, collects Marlena’s pin to give to Sal, and gets ready to go to work, commenting in narration on how she believes Liam will leave her, but only if her drinking gets impossibly bad. At work, she sees that the solitary girl, noting how she looks older than she probably is because of apparent drug use. Cat tries to connect with her, but backs off when the girl (whom Cat thinks is on meth) gets violent. After the police have taken the girl away, Cat’s co-worker hopes that she will get help.
