Chapter Two Summary
Alex, Casey and Bruno examine the inside of the unkept cabin. The one room features a sleeping loft with a tattered mattress, a wood cooking stove and crude plank table. Alex wipes a window and is pleasantly surprised by the beautiful sunset. Casey adds to her delight by explaining there is a moose that walks across the muskeg each morning. Alex shivers in the cool drawing Casey's attention to her inappropriate silk shirt as well as her body beneath the shirt. Alex finds herself babbling to Casey and realizes she is attracted to him as well. Casey puts his heavy shirt on Alex then tells her she can spend the night at his house. She refuses, thinking of the trouble hormones might bring. As the two talk Alex tells Casey she has come to Alaska in search of a husband. She...
