Summary

22: After the Supreme Court win, Lance began to think about some of the relationships in his life that had been damaged over his adult years. These included his relationships to his mother's family in the South and the Mormon Church. Through a gay Mormon friend named Troy, Lance was invited to speak with some of the LDS church leaders in Utah. Lance and Troy shared their personal stories and the church leaders shared some of their own. The LDS leaders invited some of Lance's LGBTQ+ family to attend their Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Spectacular, which is a major event in the faith. By spending time together and sharing stories, a bridge began to be built between the LGBTQ+ and Mormon communities.
