Third Floor of Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Providence
The third floor of Steere House is the place where most of the action takes place. It is the floor of the nursing home on which Oscar lives. Dosa has several patients who also live on this floor of the nursing home, putting him in contact with Oscar. Dosa begins researching Oscar when the day shift nurse tells him that Oscar has the uncanny ability to predict the deaths of the resident who live on that floor.
Enlarged Left Thumb
Dosa’s enlarged left thumb is a symbol of his compassion and empathy. Dosa suffers an inflammatory form of arthritis which he knows will eventually cause him to lose many of his physical abilities. For this reason, he can empathize with people who are struggling with degenerative diseases.
